Teachers in Louisiana can develop and share their knowledge and skills by becoming certified Content Leaders. The Content Leader certification is also a step toward Louisiana's principal certification.

Why Become a Math Content Leader?
Eureka Math and Eureka Math2 Content Leaders will have an opportunity to
- deepen their understanding of math content and the learning design and pedagogy of the curriculum through direct training and coaching from experienced Eureka Math or Eureka Math2 educators,
- learn to effectively plan for module and lesson delivery,
- work with the Eureka Math or Eureka Math2 Implementation Success team to develop the skills to facilitate high-quality professional learning experiences for their fellow educators,
- redeliver professional learning with turn key materials provided by the Eureka Math or Eureka Math2 team, and
- take a step toward school leadership positions and Louisiana's principal certification.
Eureka Math and Eureka Math2 Content Leaders will
- attend at least 90 percent of the 54 hours of training,
- create and execute a plan for facilitating professional learning,
- capture evidence (e.g., video footage, student work) of Eureka Math or Eureka Math2 instruction and adult professional learning, and
- complete all assigned self-study tasks.
What are the District Benefits of Content Leaders?
The Louisiana Department of Education created the Content Leader program to create a pathway for leadership for teachers while simultaneously recognizing the importance of content expertise among school leaders and teachers. With Content Leaders, districts can build internal capacity for professional development and support to promote student achievement and success in Louisiana.
Districts implementing Eureka Math or Eureka Math2 understand that curriculum alone does not lead to student achievement—teachers need support in the form of professional development and ongoing implementation support. Content Leaders develop their own expertise and that of other teachers through facilitated professional learning and/or redelivery of Louisiana Department of Education Content Leader Modules.
They help ensure that teachers receive the implementation support they need to deepen their learning and develop strong math instructional practices, ultimately leading to student success.
