This fall Great Minds® will host National Institutes and facilitate a number of district-hosted Regional Open Enrollment PD events. Our PD events provide educators with a meaningful learning experience and an opportunity to collaborate with peers and engage with an incredible community of educators. SAMPLE schedule

Participants enroll in a two-day track for Preparation and Customization and may add an optional one-day session, Focus on Fluency, to their two-day registration. Each day's session lasts from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a one-hour lunch break.

$600 per person (two-day track)  
Focus on Fluency, a one-day session, can be added to any two-day registration. The cost to add this session is $300.

RECOMMENDED SEQUENCE

The Eureka Math team has crafted a multiyear sequence to support educators. Foundational sessions are essential coursework anyone implementing Eureka Math, or EngageNY Math should experience.

Lead Eureka Math (Administrators)

Grade Band: K-12

Session Agenda

This two-day session is designed for administrators. It is a balance of study, experiential learning, analysis, and practice. The session covers important topics that will help administrators support successful implementations of Eureka Math. It is targeted for newer adoptions but still beneficial for current users.

Launch Eureka Math

Grade Bands: K-5, 6-8

This session prepares new users to implement Eureka Math successfully. Educators explore the curriculum to understand how the learning design and lessons build a comprehensive and coherent understanding of mathematics.

Focus on Fluency *

In this session, educators spend most of their time practicing fluency exercises. Participants learn more about the curriculum's instructional tools that support students' fluency.

Preparation and Customization of a Eureka Math Lesson *

The purpose of this full-day session is threefold: to empower teachers to discern the decisions inherent in each Eureka Math lesson, to study the curriculum's teaching sequences, and to prepare teachers to customize lessons to meet the needs of their students.

Preparation and Customization of a eureka math Module *

Grade Bands: K-5, 6-8

This session carries forward the principles from Preparation & Customization of a Eureka Math Lesson. Participants study the sequences of the curriculum, engage with the math, and consider student needs as they prepare to teach a Eureka Math module. This session includes professional reading, classroom video, opportunities for mixed grade-level collaboration, interactive demonstration, and plenty of discussion, through which participants come to recognize the critical role that preparation and study play in advancing their instructional practice. Please note: Preparation & Customization of a Eureka Math Module is available only via the Fall Institutes.

Major Work of The Grade Band

Educators already implementing the curriculum deepen their understanding of the fundamental mathematics instruction within and across grade bands. Participants study Problem Sets, analyze teaching sequences, deliver lesson segments, practice fluency activities, and model with mathematics.

Solving Word Problems

In this session, participants learn how to effectively model and teach word problems by using math drawings. The study and practice of solving word problems further reveals the coherence of the curriculum and how this mathematical model supports student learning across the grades.
