Knowledge_On-The-Go_Grade-5Level 5 Module 4 Lesson 17: Appearance of the Moon

In Lesson 17, students observe patterns (CC.1) in the way the Moon appears to change shape as it orbits Earth (ESS1.B). Students end the lesson set by completing a Conceptual Checkpoint to explain how the patterns of the Moon’s position in the sky can be used for navigation. Students answer the Phenomenon Question: Why does the Moon look the way it does from Earth?
