Wednesday, February 19, 2020—Eureka Math® from Great Minds is available on #GoOpenVA, a new online platform allowing educators and schools to access and share open educational resources. The Virginia Department of Education included Eureka Math as high quality instructional materials aligned to Virginia’s Standards of Learning. #GoOpenVA makes Eureka Math available to all Virginia schools and teachers.

Math was the first curriculum Great Minds wrote, teaching math as a body of knowledge rather than a set of skills. The curriculum began as EngageNY Math after Great Minds earned contracts from New York state to draft an open access math curriculum. After EngageNY Math caught on with teachers, Great Minds added requested features to create Eureka Math.
Eureka Math is a comprehensive Prekindergarten through Grade 12 curriculum. Its core files remain open for downloading on greatminds.org. Additional Eureka Math resources, such as professional development, are available for purchase.
Thousands of teachers all over the country use Eureka Math. A 2016 RAND Corporation report found Eureka Math and its original version, EngageNY Math, to be the most widely used elementary school math curricula in the nation. Eureka Math is highly rated by independent reviewers.
Teachers and mathematicians wrote EngageNY Math/Eureka Math. Great Minds continues to rely on teachers to write and help educators implement its curricula. A recent survey found 75 percent of Great Minds employees are current or former teachers. The company recently announced its conversion to a Public Benefit Corporation. It will move its headquarters from Washington, D.C., to Richmond, Virginia.
