Bridge to the Library: An Overview of Geodes Early Literacy Materials

Engaging, Accessible, Knowledge Building

Reading can open up new worlds for students by helping them build knowledge and sparking their curiosity. But often students don’t gain access to these enriching literacy experiences until they’ve mastered basic reading skills. Geodes® are here to change that with your current foundational phonics program.

Introducing Geodes–a new approach to early literacy that brings accessible, knowledge building, and information-rich books to emerging and developing readers.

Access a free, previously-recorded webinar to learn more about the Geodes program and how it provides all students with the opportunity to read to learn while learning to read.

During the webinar, participants:

  • experienced the K–2 Geodes program, including teacher materials and samples of Geodes texts,

  • learned how Geodes books couple specific decoding skills with research-based content and vocabulary that can be used with any foundational phonics program,

  • toured the suite of support resources for educators, families, and students including multilingual learners, and

  • discovered how to provide the Geodes libraries to Ohio's emerging and developing readers.
